Itinerary
Welcome on board with JainVoyagers Group. Your Road Voyage is curated end-to-end with clear routing, realistic drives, and on-ground support across Australia’s South Coast and Tasmania.
Day 1: Melbourne → Surf Coast → Lorne
Start with a JainVoyagers welcome briefing, then depart Melbourne with a timed route to avoid rush-hour delays. Enjoy Surf Coast viewpoints and relaxed beach stops as you begin the Great Ocean Road journey. Arrive Lorne with time for a short waterfall walk or esplanade stroll before dinner. Overnight in a comfortable base that keeps tomorrow’s drive scenic and easy.
Day 2: Lorne → Apollo Bay → Otways Rainforest
Cruise through the most photogenic Great Ocean Road bends with short pull-outs and café breaks. Reach Apollo Bay for lunch, then head into the Otways for rainforest boardwalks and waterfalls. Return to the coast and settle in for an early, restful evening. The day stays light on kilometres so you can enjoy nature without rushing.
Day 3: Otways → Shipwreck Coast → Port Campbell
Travel along the rugged Shipwreck Coast with time for viewpoints and shoreline photo pauses. Visit the Twelve Apostles area in the best light window available for the season. Add Loch Ard Gorge and nearby lookouts with comfortable walking options. Overnight Port Campbell, keeping the evening slow and relaxed.
Day 4: Port Campbell → Warrnambool → Return to Melbourne/Geelong
Enjoy a final coastal morning, then move west-to-east with a scenic stop in Warrnambool area. Return inland towards Melbourne/Geelong for a smoother drive and easy arrival. Evening is planned near the port area with clear ferry check-in guidance for tomorrow. This buffer day reduces stress and supports safe timing for the Bass Strait crossing.
Day 5: Spirit of Tasmania: Geelong/Melbourne → Devonport (Overnight Crossing)
Check-in smoothly with step-by-step instructions and contingency timings. Board the ferry and settle in for an overnight crossing across Bass Strait. Use the evening to rest—tomorrow starts fresh in Tasmania without losing sightseeing time. If sailing schedules change, we adjust the program while protecting key Tasmania highlights.
Day 6: Devonport → Cradle Mountain Region
Arrive Devonport and head inland into Tasmania’s cool forests and highland landscapes. Spend the afternoon around the Cradle Mountain region with a choice of gentle trails and viewpoints. Overnight nearby for an early next-day start and relaxed pacing. Your routing keeps drive times realistic and avoids late-night arrivals.
Day 7: Cradle Region → West Coast / Strahan (Optional Routing Day)
Continue west through changing landscapes—forests, rivers and open valleys—towards Tasmania’s wild coast. Optional scenic experiences depend on access and season, with strong alternates if weather is rough. Arrive Strahan area for a calm waterfront evening and easy dining options. This day is designed for scenery and slow travel rather than ticking boxes.
Day 8: West Coast → Launceston
Depart with a relaxed morning and drive back towards the north with planned rest and photo stops. Arrive Launceston with time to explore riverside precincts and nearby viewpoints. Evening at leisure with recommended local eateries and early rest. We keep the day balanced so you feel refreshed for the East Coast tomorrow.
Day 9: Launceston → Freycinet (Wineglass Bay Region) → East Coast Stay
Drive to the East Coast with optional farm-gate produce stops and scenic pull-outs. Arrive Freycinet and choose an easy lookout walk for the iconic Wineglass Bay panorama. Check in near Coles Bay/East Coast and enjoy a quiet seaside evening. Timing buffers allow you to avoid crowds and catch the best light.
Day 10: East Coast → Richmond → Hobart (2-Night Stay Begins)
Start slow, then cruise south with beach and viewpoint stops based on conditions. Pause in historic Richmond for a short stroll and photos before arriving in Hobart. Settle into a two-night stay to reduce packing and increase experience time. Optional: Mount Wellington viewpoint for an evening panorama if skies are clear.
Day 11: Hobart → Bruny Island + Tasman Peninsula Sampler → Hobart
Take an early run to Bruny Island for cliff lookouts and food stops, then return via the scenic coastal roads. Continue to a Tasman Peninsula viewpoint stop for dramatic cliffs and ocean views. Return to Hobart for a relaxed final evening—waterfront dining and shopping suggestions provided. Day flow stays flexible so weather and ferry timings guide the best sequence.
Day 12: Hobart → Devonport / Depart (Ferry or Flight Connections)
Enjoy a final Hobart morning, then begin the cross-island drive with comfortable breaks and fuel notes. Arrive Devonport with clear departure timing for the ferry, or connect to flights where contracted. Vehicle return and documentation handover are guided for a clean partner-ready finish. Tour concludes with JainVoyagers support for feedback, future routing, and repeat departures.
