Day 2 — Queenstown to Wanaka: Drive via alpine roads with planned photo stops and coffee breaks. Arrive Wanaka early for lakeside walks and café culture. Enjoy sunset together by the lake. Evening remains unhurried.

Day 3 — Wanaka to Franz Josef: Cross Haast Pass with waterfall viewpoints and relaxed lunch stops. Arrive Franz Josef for an evening walk or glacier lookout. Dinner is kept simple and cozy. Night is calm and comfortable.

Day 4 — Franz Josef glacier day: Spend the day at your own pace with glacier viewpoints and short trails. Optional guided ice walk or helicopter flight can be added. Afternoon is free for hot pools or rest. Evening is quiet and romantic.

Day 5 — Franz Josef to Tekapo: Travel inland with scenic café and viewpoint breaks. Arrive Tekapo for iconic lake landmarks and a calm afternoon. Stargazing is suggested when skies are clear. Night is peaceful and slow-paced.

Day 6 — Tekapo to Queenstown: Enjoy a relaxed breakfast before driving back to Queenstown with scenic stops. Check in and enjoy lakefront downtime. Afternoon is free for shopping or cafés. Evening is flexible for dining.

Day 7 — Milford Sound day trip: Drive to Milford Sound with curated scenic stops and comfort breaks. Enjoy a fjord cruise for waterfalls and towering cliffs. Return to Queenstown with rest stops. Night is calm and celebratory.
