Day 1 — Arrive Queenstown: Pick up your self-drive vehicle and check in with an easy, stress-free arrival plan. Take a gentle lakefront walk to stretch your legs, then enjoy flexible dining options near the waterfront. If time and energy allow, add a short viewpoint stop for your first alpine panorama. End the day early to stay fresh for the Fiordland road day.

Day 2 — Queenstown ↔ Milford Sound: Depart early and drive the famous Milford Road with planned stops at mirror lakes, valleys and lookout points for photos. Arrive at Milford Sound and board your included cruise for towering cliffs, waterfalls and calm fjord moments. After the cruise, return to Queenstown with comfort breaks and a meal stop to avoid fatigue. Evening is kept light for recovery and relaxation.

Day 3 — Arrowtown & departure: Start slow with a relaxed morning and coffee by the lake before driving to Arrowtown for heritage streets and boutique browsing. Choose an easy riverside stroll or a short scenic stop depending on departure timing. Return to Queenstown for last-minute shopping and vehicle drop-off with a buffer for airport check-in. Depart with a complete South Island highlight experience packed into three days.
