Arrive Lorne and enjoy a relaxed afternoon at the beach or a short waterfall walk nearby. Evening at leisure with dining recommendations and a restful overnight.

Day 2: Lorne → Apollo Bay → Otways Rainforest → Port Campbell
Drive through lush coastal bends towards Apollo Bay with planned photo pull-outs and coffee stops. Head inland to the Otways for a cool rainforest walk and waterfall stop, suitable for most fitness levels. Continue to Port Campbell, arriving with time for a gentle coastal sunset viewpoint. Day 3: Port Campbell → Twelve Apostles → Loch Ard Gorge → Warrnambool
Start with the Twelve Apostles and nearby lookouts, timed for best light and calmer winds where possible. Explore Loch Ard Gorge and Shipwreck Coast stories, then continue to Warrnambool for a wider coastal base. Optional detour to Tower Hill Wildlife Reserve-style viewpoints if conditions suit. Evening is relaxed—ideal for a seaside dinner and early night.

Day 4: Warrnambool → Melbourne → Phillip Island
Return towards Melbourne with a comfortable mid-way break and clear route guidance for re-entering the city. Continue to Phillip Island via the Bass Coast, arriving with time for beach walks and lookout points. Optional evening: Penguin Parade experience and Nobbies boardwalk for dramatic waves. Overnight on or near the island for an easy morning start.

Day 5: Phillip Island → Brighton Beach Boxes → Melbourne Departure
Begin with a calm coastal morning—choose a short walk or wildlife spot based on the day’s conditions. Drive back towards Melbourne with an optional stop at Brighton’s iconic beach boxes for final photos. Arrive with smooth drop-off planning, allowing ample buffer for flights or onward city stays.
